P5 have been learning about natural disasters and, as part of their study of volcanoes, they have been investigating the layers of the earth. After learning facts about each layer, the children worked together to make models of the structure of the earth. They used modelling clay to create their models which were then cut open, through the middle, to clearly reveal each layer. Cocktail sticks were then used to label each part. They have worked so hard on this task over the past two days and, I think you’ll agree, the finished products are amazing!
