Paired Reading Programme

12th Jan 2017

Today, P5/6 and P7 started a Paired Reading Programme.  This is an exciting new project which will last 12 weeks and research has shown it has great benefits including: improving children's reading skills; increasing children's confidence when reading and speaking to new people; and helping to build friendships .  Each P5/6 child is paired with a P7 child and, once a week, they get together to read and complete activities based on what they have read.  The children worked so hard during their first session together and were very enthusiastic.  Every week, Mrs Haugh and Mrs Annette will each pick a reading partner of the week, these children will be rewarded during assembly for their hard work.  Keep up the good work P5/6 and P7!  Your teachers are very proud of you!
