As part of our ‘Natural Disasters’ topic, our young scientists in P5 explored the structure of the Earth using modelling clay! The children carefully built layered clay spheres, placing each part of the Earth inside the next - just like the real Christ, mantle, outer core and inner core, after assembling their models, we carefully sliced them open to reveal the colourful layers within. This hands-on activity helped children visualise what lies beneath our feet and helped deepen their understanding of the Earth’s structure in a fun and creative way.
