Today, Primary 5 kicked off their exciting new writing focus—persuasive writing. The children explored a range of persuasive techniques by watching UK adverts, discussing their ideas, and analysing how these adverts influence audiences.
They then examined a selection of made?up advertisement posters, carefully identifying and noting key features used to persuade. The class did a fantastic job spotting techniques that encourage people to buy products—showing great understanding and enthusiasm.
As the unit progresses, the children will be working towards creating their very own adverts. They will write scripts, design props, add music, and perform their advertisements to promote snozzcumbers and frobscottle from our class novel, The BFG.
