Today, P5 went to the Crescent Arts Centre for part 1 of the Fighting Words programme. This exciting set of workshops aims to inspire creativity and develop a lifelong love of writing in our pupils. The children worked together to write an imaginative first chapter of a brand new novel. They then got into smaller groups and continued the story in their own words. An illustrator was also present today and she was drawing the children’s ideas throughout the morning. Some of the children had their work read to the rest of the class and they each received a printed copy of their own story, which we will be working on in class over the next few weeks. We are looking forward to continuing this wonderful programme throughout the year.
