'Young At Art'

18th Feb 2016

On Thursday 18th February P5 greeted visitors, Elaine and Ash, from 'Young At Art.'  'Young At Art,' has been funded by Translink to complete a project alongside schools, to create artwork for Great Victoria Street Railway Station in the centre of Belfast.  The station is to be refurbished and the children were asked to imagine the nature and flowers they would encounter whilst looking out the window during a train journey.  The children drew their ideas and some even wrote beautiful acrostic poems.  The children then turned their thoughts in to stunning artwork, by creating flowers using foam, paper and felt.  Ash and Elaine are going to prepare the children's artwork for exhibition in the railway station.  The best works of art will also be used to decorate hoarding, which will be placed outside the station during the refurbishments.  Mrs. Annette was very impressed with Primary Five and the creative and imaginative pieces of work they created!  We can't wait to see them on display!  Well done class!
